JAlbum Plugin for WordPress – download links for beta and previous version

Hi there
You’ve all been far too patient, and I’ve been far too busy (with just about everything else than the plugin).
Bottom line: I’m not done with the latest version of the plugin – yet – but you can now download the beta version from my site and just install it for the first time or upgrade your old v1 of the plugin. Your old v1 albums will continue to work.
Having the beta and v1 installed at the same time is “ok”, as long as only one of the versions is active in the wordpress plugin manager.
The beta is still missing the new “Upload Jalbum project file” feature and the new JAlbum manager section is also to be considered work in progress. However, all the old features are present and functioning – so just use it as you’ve always had. On the plus side, the beta version is compatible with wordpress 2.5+ and as some of you might have noticed the v1 plugin wizard interface died at 2.5 due to a major upgrade of the wordpress TinyMCE editor.
I’ll throw whatever time I can find at the plugin, currently its looking grimm, and would love to hear from some of you about your modifications/additions/further work on the plugin. It is open source, so feel free to contribute! =)

Michael, Thanks for making the beta available!

Thanks!

Just gave this a try and ran into two bugs. The first was on line 35 of wp_jalbum2.php. My install doesn’t have update_core set anywhere. Likely because I’ve never updated. I had to hard write in a value for $wp_jalbum2_wp_version to make things work.
The second bug is with the function wp_jalbum2_transform_library_path_to_abs_dir. It does a str_replace(“\\”, “/” which foobars if the path has a back slash already in the path. I.E.:
Jackie/’s Wedding
becomes
Jackie\’s Wedding
subsequent checks for the path fail.
Sorry for posting this here, I couldn’t find your email address.

hi, thank you for this excellent plugin (JAlbum2beta). for a long time i have been waiting for something like this. i have installed the plugin as directed.
1. there is no error message on the settings page.
2. the jalbam icon shows on the blog editor. once clicked it pops open a window for settings. after entering the details, it does add a code on the editing page, but that is all.
but the problem is, it still cannot upload/add any new album/gallery. i have already tried changing the directory permission to 0777, which did not work.
Please advise how i should proceed. Need to find a way to upload photos for the gallery.
would really appreciate your advice.
with regards

muktangon:
You need to upload the JAlbum files in a regular fashion – eg. by performing an FTP upload or using the built in upload feature in JAlbum.
The plugin I provide only works for already uploaded albums, and makes it easy for you to show your partial or entire albums on your wordpress blog.
